![]() She’s passed away but she should have reviews on everything up until last year. Here’s the bottom line: I can’t use the old cliche “if you only buy one palette/makeup item this season let it be this one”. ![]() I know this was pretty much a roast of her shadows but they’re very expensive so I thought I’d share.Īlso, if you want a review by someone who actually loves her palettes, check out Mel Thompson (rip) on YouTube. The colors are so much more dull and uninteresting in person, sadly. If you have a location you can view them in person, I definitely would. Also, much of her marketing is based on FOMO so she often launches “limited edition” items that sell out quick and then surprise, it’s back right before the holidays. She has sales pretty much nonstop, so if you do buy them don’t buy full price. I wouldn’t buy them again if I had the opportunity. Personally, I’ve found that at least 3 shades in each palette look exactly the same on the eye. I strongly suggest you look up reviews from real users and not influencers to get a good idea of what the shades look like. The colors in the pan will look nothing like on her site or Instagram. Lastly, her swatches are WILDLY misleading. I’ve tried all the primers with them and not one has made a difference. The shadows also seem to fade very quickly. They were 10 years ago but now every indie brand out there has multi chrome shades and if that’s what’s drawing you, I’d just find a dupe. The “special shades” aren’t that special. ![]() She has tutorials for her palettes and you’ll often hear people say they’re difficult because they’re “pro” palettes but honestly they’re marketed to average users and frankly for $130, they should blend themselves. The shadows can be difficult to work with. The packaging is heavy which is nice but heaven forbid you drop it on your foot. Seriously, the woman loves gold shades and they’re in every palette. The special shades are pretty eye catching. The pans are also fairly big for an eyeshadow palette. The packaging is heavy and feels very lux. I would not repurchase any of them and I’ve actually given Subliminal away. I have Divine Rose I & II, Midnight Sun, and Subliminal. I’ve purchased 4 in the last few years and definitely don’t feel like I got my money’s worth. If your post does not show up, please message the mods, it might be stuck in the spam filter.
